Infiniti Transmission Warning Signs
Continuously variable transmissions, fitted to many Infiniti models, are the item owners most want to know about, and the useful thing is that they warn you.
The early signs are subtle enough to dismiss. A slight shudder at light throttle, usually around thirty to forty miles an hour. A change in how the car pulls away from a stop. A whine that rises with speed and was not there last year. Acceleration that feels less connected than it did.
None of those mean the transmission is finished. They mean fluid condition, adaptation values or a specific component deserves attention while the answer is still a service rather than a replacement.
Fluid matters more on an Infiniti CVT than on a conventional automatic. It requires the correct specification, and the interval is real regardless of what anyone says about sealed units. Heat is the enemy, so towing, hilly driving and stop-and-go traffic all shorten it.
